Similar in some respects to acupuncture, cupping therapy is believed to stimulate blood flow and alleviate pain. It is a technique that uses small cups as suction devices that are placed on the skin and is available for face or body. Cupping is much like the inverse of regular massage – rather than applying pressure to the muscles, it uses gentle pressure to pull them upward. The cups may be left in place or gently moved across the muscle tissues to achieve desired results. This technique may be included with all other massage options.
